Twin City Subaru - Automotive Service Technician

SUMMARY:
Life as a Professional Automotive Service Technician at Twin City Subaru means more than showing up to work to "fix" cars. We strive to provide a "Professional" environment where your pride in quality is encouraged and rewarded. As a Professional Service Technician, you will assist us in creating "Customers For Life" by providing the highest level of service possible. That means a car does not leave your workstation if it is not fixed, and fixed correctly. Welcome to life as a Professional Service Technician..802 Style!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Complete all required training and continue your education!
  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
  • Complete an MPI (Multi-Point INspection) on each and every vehicle.
  • Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed
  • Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Subaru experience and or ASE certifications a plus!
  • Fast, eager learner and team player
  • Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new applications and software
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Clean driving record & valid driver's license
  • Willing to submit to a background check prior to employment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience as an auto technician
  • At least 1 year of experience working on Subaru vehicles
COMMUNICATION / LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, services writers and co-workers

In many cases, if a person really enjoys Fixed Operations (Service and Parts Departments), this is the top rung of the Fixed Operations Career Ladder.  If they want to still learn more, they might switch departments or aspire to become a General Manager.

EARNING POTENTIAL:
First-year Professional Automotive Service Technicians on average make $35,000-50,000 it is possible to make as much as $60,000. By year three, some Professional Automotive Service Technicians with continued training and education can make over $80,000 per year.

Twin City Subaru - Automotive Parts Associate

SUMMARY:
Duties include waiting on internal and external customers, filling orders, reviewing, monitoring and placing stock orders, creating customer invoices and pack skips, inventory control, and shipping and receiving.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the parts sales process from customer inquiry to finding the part to invoicing the customer.
  • Work with parts manager to locate any parts not in stock.
  • Complete special order part request for any parts that need to be ordered for the customer.
  • Communicate with customer on the status of any parts ordered and notify them upon delivery to the dealership.
  • Serve as backup to parts delivery or stocking clerk as necessary.
  • Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Making sure that parts are tagged for the proper customer.
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations applicable to industry.
  • Making sure the parts department is cleaned up and tidy, removing cardboard.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Professional appearance and strong work ethic
  • Proficient with computer skills is preferred
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Valid and current Driver's License with ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
