Green-Up Day 2011 - Win $5,000 in Landscaping

Subaru of New England and Twin City Subaru are helping to keep Vermont Green again in 2011.

We will be an official bag pick up and drop off location for Green-Up Day on May 7th, 2011. Twin City Subaru will also help to support Green-Up Day and its volunteers by:

Getting our entire staff involved and cleaning up trash.
Offering free refreshments and snacks throughout the day to hard working volunteers.
Providing drive by bag replenishment, water and snack to volunteers.

Provide Food For Wildlife - Native plants that provide the foliage, nectar, pollen, berries, seeds and nuts that many species of wildlife require to survive and thrive (15 shrubs and 50 perennials installed with local organic compost and mulch)
Supply Water for Wildlife - a natural stone bubbling fountain (installed)
Create Cover for Wildlife - Native shrubs clustered near the water source (5 large shrubs installed)
Give Wildlife a Place to Raise their Young - two bird and bat houses
Improve the Ecological Footprint - introduce an organic soil management system, provide a 3' x 3' cedar compost bin, consult about lawn reduction and proper management
Reduce Storm water and improve water quality - install permeable paving approx 75 SF (walkway 3' wide and 25')
